Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to Conservative Friends of America.

CFA is the official Conservative Party organisation for the promotion of amity between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It is focused on enhancing the ties of our two nations for both political establishments and citizens.

British Conservatism and its interpretation of core values and principles such as freedom, a small state, and the big society has taken inspiration from sister movements around the world. Whilst lessons have been learnt from our neighbours in Europe, the Mother Country has taken much inspiration from its precocious progeny. The UK has benefitted greatly from the philosophical and practical political experiences of the US.

Given these rich ties and our nations’ common objectives, CFA seeks to support the political and community leaders of today and tomorrow by facilitating debate and education. We also provide a network through which events, issues, news and opportunities can be shared.

The organisation was founded by Michael Fabricant MP for UK Parliamentarians; but in 2010, in response to interest from activists, councillors, party members, and students, the group has opened up friendship to all Conservatives.

It has been my great privilege to take over the chairmanship of the CFA from Michael Fabricant, and I hope that you will join me in our activities and make use of the opportunities and experiences we offer.
